Mission
The Reiki Share Project is dedicated to providing Reiki classes to groups of individuals and caregivers facing serious illness, disability, or trauma. Through our classes and community outreach programs, we teach and support Reiki, a complementary healing practice that facilitates health and well-being through self-treatment and treatment of others.
Vision
An innovative leader, The Reiki Share Project empowers individuals to participate in their own healing process; integrates the practice of Reiki into health care systems and community-based organizations; and fosters a caring and supportive wellness community.
The Founder
Jane Van De Velde is the president of The Reiki Share Project. A registered nurse with experience in geriatrics, home care, hospice, and program management, Jane holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Rush University in Chicago. Jane began her Reiki journey in 2003 and knew very quickly that she wanted to develop a professional Reiki practice. As a Reiki Master Teacher, her experience with Reiki includes offering private sessions, developing Reiki curriculum, teaching all levels of Reiki classes, volunteering, and giving community presentations. In 2009, she founded The Reiki Share Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, as a means to introduce the healing practice of Reiki to ever growing numbers of people in the community and within healthcare organizations. In 2012, Jane founded the Reiki Volunteer Program at Elmhurst Hospital (see article in Reiki News). In 2016, Jane became part of the Integrative Medicine Clinic team at Elmhurst Hospital in Elmhurst IL. She offers Reiki sessions to the community, gives presentations about Reiki throughout the organization, and teaches Reiki classes.

Master Teachers
Our Reiki Master Teachers
Our classes are taught by experienced Reiki Master Teachers all of whom are engaged in a variety of Reiki activities: offering private sessions; teaching all levels of Reiki classes; volunteering in community settings and healthcare organizations; and practicing other healing modalities. Our teachers believe in self-care, and they are committed to practicing what they teach.
