Reiki Stories
After taking Reiki class, “I have noticed some subtle changes. I find that I want to support my body with even better nutrition and my digestion has improved. I have been prioritizing my self-care which has always been a challenge for me. I prefer to take care of other’s needs first. But I am learning the wisdom in placing self-treatment first as a gift I give myself. I now begin my day by saying the Reiki Principles. I have memorized them and find they are serving me well. The Principles are so concise and cover absolutely every aspect of my day. They gently guide me to focus my desires.”

“Reiki has become an important part of our lives and has brought the three of us closer together. With Reiki we feel we are being proactive; we can have some control over our shared diagnoses of cancer as well as other issues. We understand how beneficial Reiki is and we sincerely want the best outcomes for each other. We are always there for each other and share distant Reiki sometimes daily. We talk, text, and meet for lunch. We believe we practice Reiki more regularly because of our open and trusting communication with each other. There is simply love, understanding, and healing.

“I have used Reiki as a tool in my fight against cancer. The physical weakness, hospital visits, doctor consultations, and blood transfusions caused overwhelming stress – until I reached into my toolbox and used Reiki to help calm me and give me the strength to fight for my life. Using Reiki empowered me to act on my own behalf to get well. What better gift can there be than to give yourself a tool that assists you in being more relaxed, less stressed, and more present in this process we call living”

“The first time I went through chemotherapy for breast cancer, the Reiki sessions I received helped me deal with stress and I was encouraged to take a class through The Reiki Share Project. After a couple years, I was diagnosed with recurrent cancer requiring further treatment. I self-treated with Reiki in the weeks before and after surgery. I also received regular sessions from Reiki practitioners. I credit Reiki for contributing to my rapid, comfortable recovery. When my skin was painful from radiation, I followed the recommendations of my healthcare providers for treatment and… then I added Reiki. All of this together helped make the pain tolerable and I healed more quickly. I would never give up my allopathic treatments for recurrent breast cancer but Reiki is a wonderful addition to standard medical care.”

“My patient was experiencing extreme pain in her right calf from leg spasms. She was moaning with distress and rubbing her leg. I asked if I could offer Reiki to her. She accepted and as soon as I placed my hands under her calf she sat back and looked completely relaxed. I could feel her leg spasms in my hands and so I was puzzled as to how she could be so relaxed. When I asked her if her pain was gone, she said “No but it’s so much better.”
